Leitner system

Six boxes, growing intervals

New cards start in box one. Each correct answer moves a card up and pushes the next review further out: 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, then 30 days. Forget it and it goes back to box one.

  • Easy cards show up rarely, hard ones more often
  • Each deck’s progress is visible in the library
  • No schedules to plan, nothing to remember

How it works

Spaced repetition in three steps

Decades of memory research, packed into a single button.

  1. 1

    Learn new cards

New cards start in box one and come back the next day.

  2. 2

    Answer honestly

Mark “got it” only when you really recall it — no cheating yourself.

  3. 3

    Let intervals grow

Intervals stretch with your memory until a card only needs a visit once a month.

Frequently asked questions

What is spaced repetition?

A way of reviewing with growing gaps between sessions. Recalling something just before you would forget it makes the memory stronger, so you review less often and remember longer.

How does the Leitner system work in Doopi?

There are six boxes with intervals of 1, 2, 4, 7, 14 and 30 days. A correct answer moves the card up a box; a miss sends it back to box one for tomorrow.

How long should I study each day?

10–20 focused minutes is enough. What matters is not skipping days — the streak on your home page helps you keep the habit.

What if I grade a card by mistake?

Press Z (or the Undo button) to take back the last grade; the card returns to its previous box and schedule.
